Heute Morgen hat Ubisoft bekannt gegeben, dass man sein Vancouver Studio geschlossen hat. Grund hierfür war der mäßige Erfolg der dort entwickelten Spiele.

“We have made the difficult decision to close its studio in Vancouver [as] unfortunately, we haven’t found the right formula for success for the talented team there”

Ubisoft hatte 2009 das Entwicklerstudio Action Pants gekauft und dieses dann in das Vancouver Studio umgebaut und seitdem durfte man an unterschiedlichen Sportspielen, wie Pure Football, Academy of Champions: Soccer und Motionsport Adrenaline arbeiten, welche aber leider alle kommerziellen Erfolg vermissen ließen.

Den Mitarbeitern wird aber die Möglichkeit gelassen eine andere Stelle in einem anderen Studio Ubisofts zu übernehmen. 

“Team members will have the opportunity to consider positions in other Ubisoft studios and we will work with each of them to help find the best next step, whether it be within Ubisoft or outside.”
